What Makes a Lady Happy?

Happiness. We all want it, we all pursue it, and it seems like we never have enough. But what makes us truly happy? I'm not talking about the  I-just-ate-my-favorite-candybar kind of happy. I'm talking real joy. The kind that gives you laughter cramps and smile wrinkles. The kind that makes you grin just thinking about it. The kind that you stay up all night talking to a loved one about. What gives you a spring in your step and a light in your eyes? Where do you mentally go when you are feeling distressed? What could do you forever?

Think about it.

Happiness is something that is a part of everyone's life---either they have plenty and are reveling in it like a pig to mud, or they are unsatisfied because they feel like a truck on empty in the middle of a desert. Whether in your life or not, you can't escape it.

Hence the purpose of this blog. Happiness is intriguing to me, and I wanted to create a blog focusing on the happiness of one specific group: women. Is it true that "When momma ain't happy, ain't nobody happy?" How does a women's happiness affect those she surrounds herself with? How does it affect a man's happiness?

This blog will include research, quotations from surveys, and tips and tricks to be a happy woman. Please post your ideas and suggestions---you could just make another person a little happier!

  1. I think it is true that "when mama ain't happy, ain't nobody happy." I know I've seen it with my own mom growing up. Her attitude reflected on everyone in the house. I have also seen it in my marriage. When I'm the least bit frustrated or upset in any way, it defiantly affects my husband. It changes the whole atmosphere of our home. I'm not exactly sure why but I know it does. For me to be happy, I have to be doing something productive with my time whither its school or work. I also feel true happiness when I spend quality time with my friends and family (especially outdoors!). I like to reflect on those times when I'm stressed because there is such a feeling of peace. When I am stressed about school, to feel happy I need a break. I usually try and take a step back and re-evaluate my priorities. It helps me to remember my purpose and what I'm doing.
